Michael "Scott" Speicher

The remains of a navy pilot were found yesterday in a grave in Irag. The remains were of Micheal Spieicher who had crashed his plane in 1991 during the gulf war. After he had gone missing the navy and cia searched for 5 years for the remains of the crash or Speicher. In 1995 the crash site was found but the remains of the body were not there. After the crash was found the department declared him killed in action but in 2001 the CIA beleived that he survived by ejecting from his plane. This is the first time that the department has changed the status of someone that has gone missing during the war. For the third time the pentagon decided to change his staus again from missing in action to missing-captured during the war. The invasion of Iraq in 2003 gave new hope of finding his remains and a tip from an Iraqi citizen said that they had taking his body and burried it after finding the crash. When they finally did the test on the bones found they declaired that they were the bones tof Michael Speicher.
